30 aniversario Orquesta Sinfónica de Euskadi
On the thirtieth anniversary of the founding of the Euskadi Symphony Orchestra (1982), the BBVA Foundation and Verso have launched a commemorative recording including 8 musical pieces in all (8 tiles) under some of the most renowned conductors who have led the Basque ensemble.
A strength of the interesting programme highlights the stylistic variety of the works selected, taking in a wide range of composers, spirits, concerns and ways of understanding musical art, from the references by Ivan Fedele (txalaparta) to instruments from folklore, to the contemporary abstraction of Eötvös. The result is magnificent, with the addition to the attraction of the programme and the beauty of those tiles of the excellent and varied conducting, the quality of the grouping honoured and the sheen of a production doing justice to one of this country’s most outstanding orchestras.
